Why use visual training programs?

During sport the visual system provides 90% of the sensory input to the brain and therefore has a key role to play in areas such as decision making, perception, communication, judgement of distance, depth etc. Training the visual system, working the muscles associated with eye movements, eye hand reflexes and accommodation can enhance performance in sports that rely heavily on visual input.

In recent years there has been an increase in utilisation and acceptance of sport vision training. Performance athletes from a range of sports currently incorporate visual training into their training programs and have experienced enhanced performance. Sports that have already benefited from the type of unique consultancy provided by Sport Vision Ireland include Gaelic Football, Hockey and Rugby.
