Sport Vision is a new field in optometry which deals specifically with the development of techniques and practices aimed at enhancing an individual athlete's visual skill.
Athletes are already trained in techniques to enhance speed, strength and endurance, so it would seem only logical that we train them to develop their visual skills.
Sport Vision Ireland is an Optometric consultancy specialising in the field of sport vision. Uniquely positioned as the 1st sport vision consultancy in Ireland, Sport Vision Ireland is at the leading edge in this exciting new field.
Sportsvision have worked with the leading competitive shots in Northern Ireland in the last 12 months in both Clay pigeon shooting specifically the Olympic skeet and Olympic trap disciplines following a direct referral form the Sports institute of N. Ireland based in the Ulster University, Jordanstown.

About Craig
Craig is married with three children and lives near Sprucefield in Lisburn; he showed an aptitude for sport from an early age.
Craig played rugby, swam and shot clay pigeons competitively. He obtained a 2.1 honours Optometry degree from Glasgow Caledonian University in 1988 and following periods of work abroad he returned to Northern Ireland in 1994.
Craig opened two optical practices in Co. Down, firstly in Ballynahinch and then Saintfield. He now spends his spare time watching his children play hockey and enjoys target and rough shooting.
The combination of Optometry and sport is a natural one, and so he developed some unique visual training programs of his own. The development of the Diploma in Sport Vision Practice was an obvious course, and Craig was among the first to obtain the new qualification in April 2006.
Branching Out
The decision to expand into the field of Sport Vision was not only based on sound business ideas but was also based on Craig's insight into the sporting fraternity, gained as an ex-rugby player and now as a coaching assistant.
At Sport Vision Ireland, we believe that the sporting fraternity can benefit from visual training techniques that can enhance sporting performance.
